PC-NVR not recording

So I set am set up to use PC-NVR (I've done the NVR thing...twice and they fail constantly). I decided to just utilize my existing home serve to record footage from my cameras that I moved to a dedicated Aruba POE switch. I've got everything setup using this process:


Every looks good, I have the space allocated and the cams loaded in the the "selected channel" window.

When I got to playback videos though, I get the "Channel CAM has no record" notification box.

Not sure what I'm doing incorrectly, anyone have any assistance they can provide? Thanks.
 
Most of us have found the PC-NVR program to be a power hog, is slow, and prone to problems, which is why most running a PC will use Blue Iris instead.
 
As @wittaj mentions, PC-NVR isnt very robust and is a hog. It actually sucks. Tried it once years ago and never looked back

It would be interesting to know what you say your NVR's "failed constantly" as that is the opposite experience of most Dahua NVR users.

I have 7 that I can see right now that are working fine at 5, 6, and 7 years
Two of them in NEMA boxes outside through FLa heat and hurricanes
 
My NVR has been going 8 years, 24x7. Had to reboot it once, more than 5 years ago.
