Pandemic threat? Anyone else concerned?

Yeah, always leary of those claims. And to your point, at what price in quality of life?

Yeah, we often hear we are living longer now yet many I see are not really what I call living. Now out here, away from the City, to see a 90 year old on a tractor is amazing to me...most are pretty healthy out here, all eyes are on me, the fat guy...LOL

I went from 170 most of my life to 220 in less than 3 years due to A) being sedentary working from home and taking care of mom and B) on hyperthyroid meds which slowed my metabolism big time.

In the process of getting off the thyroid meds and getting serious about exercise

Funny, but we have similar weights...I am 5' 10"
But I believe the meds I was on did not help. Since I got off Statins, I have noticed, not much, but a drop in weight. But this is also with me turning down deserts too. I will say, no more muscle craps since I got off those things...

You know, if you can call this exercise, our pool requires alot more maintenance than our previous pool did. Now with the leaves falling, even more. Add all the limbs we pick up too :) We are outside much, much more out here, I can say I feel much, much better too. Fresh Air, love it. Well as long as you are not downwind any livestock, lol

Then on the flip side of the coin, do I want to be alive in my 90s? I guess, yes, but only if I have my mind still and am not dependent on others. Only the Lord knows my future...

Ok, so this is funny, or maybe not, or just to me, we have an outdoor shower which I use pretty much most of the year, keeps me from having to clean/squidgy/wipe out our indoor showers, haha, anyway, we are in the low 50s here this morning. No wind, so I figured why not. Well it is cold enough without being wet, add water, lol, man was it cold.

Stupid me, my clue should of been the smoke/vapor I was blowing when breathing before I even got to the shower.

I AM WIDE AWAKE NOW!!! haha

Other studies showed a correlation with cancers going into "turbo" mode.... Hmmmm
Interesting.
indeed.
An Extra Year is nice, I guess, depending on the suffering...just not sure significantly is the right word to use here though...

I came in to post the same snippet-- That is actually longer than I expected. "Significance" (in science) means greater than 5% difference that can't be accounted for from natural variance. A lot of cancer drugs / immunotherapies market themselves as giving you the chance to live longer. Often that is only months more than the average lifespan for those with similar disease levels.

No soap allowed in the canal
Don't tell them but went looked at some gator boots today. Well Ostrich and Python too...Leaning toward smooth quill Ostrich, man they are soft...and a good fit...

Dang those are nice. They are out of my price range, trying to keep under $400. I made the mistake of trying some smooth quills on last year, which I should of got, round toe too, but the wife said I ain't a dancin' anymore, haha. Man those Ostrich boots fit like a glove and no not an OJ glove, haha, now trying to find a wide in my size is not easy. The Salesman told me if you find one that fit that good you snatch them up, well he was right...going to another town tomorrow to look at some more. I could go Full quill too...

My work boots back in the day were Red Wings, I was a Lineman, no not for the county (Wichita Lineman) haha, Electric Co. and Cable TV Contractor. Never really had any good cowboy boots, had some cheap ones to boot scootin' boogie at the C&W bars, lol.

I think I deserve some nice boots now being out here in the heart of Texas, haha. I bought some Ariat WorkHogs when we moved out here, took some time to break them in since I was not working in them daily :) Need some going out boots now...well not like we use to go out in our youth, I am talking going out to the Dollar General/Family Dollar, Post Office boots, hahaha...the wife is going with me tomorrow so she may be on board for me getting some...
