Yeah, we often hear we are living longer now yet many I see are not really what I call living. Now out here, away from the City, to see a 90 year old on a tractor is amazing to me...most are pretty healthy out here, all eyes are on me, the fat guy...LOLYeah, always leary of those claims. And to your point, at what price in quality of life?
Funny, but we have similar weights...I am 5' 10"I went from 170 most of my life to 220 in less than 3 years due to A) being sedentary working from home and taking care of mom and B) on hyperthyroid meds which slowed my metabolism big time.
In the process of getting off the thyroid meds and getting serious about exercise
Other studies showed a correlation with cancers going into "turbo" mode.... Hmmmm
indeed.Interesting.
I came in to post the same snippet-- That is actually longer than I expected. "Significance" (in science) means greater than 5% difference that can't be accounted for from natural variance. A lot of cancer drugs / immunotherapies market themselves as giving you the chance to live longer. Often that is only months more than the average lifespan for those with similar disease levels. An Extra Year is nice, I guess, depending on the suffering...just not sure significantly is the right word to use here though...

See notes from the swamp threadI have the canal… but wait…
The Gators would love some company, lolI have the canal… but wait…
Don't tell them but went looked at some gator boots today. Well Ostrich and Python too...Leaning toward smooth quill Ostrich, man they are soft...and a good fit...No soap allowed in the canal
Dang those are nice. They are out of my price range, trying to keep under $400. I made the mistake of trying some smooth quills on last year, which I should of got, round toe too, but the wife said I ain't a dancin' anymore, haha. Man those Ostrich boots fit like a glove and no not an OJ glove, haha, now trying to find a wide in my size is not easy. The Salesman told me if you find one that fit that good you snatch them up, well he was right...going to another town tomorrow to look at some more. I could go Full quill too...Had a pair of Lucchese Ostrich I wore every day for a long time. Damn nice boots
My work boots back in the day were Red Wings, I was a Lineman, no not for the county (Wichita Lineman) haha, Electric Co. and Cable TV Contractor. Never really had any good cowboy boots, had some cheap ones to boot scootin' boogie at the C&W bars, lol.Alligator used to be expensive? Its been a lot of years since I wore boots.
When I lived in Texas I had my dress boats, my goin out to the bar to chase ladies boots, my work boots, must have had 4-5 pair.
