Outdoor to indoor Cat 5e cable runs

Is it ok to continue installing "outdoor" rated Cat 5e cable from the outdoors to the indoors where it terminates at the switch? Or is it better to transition once I get inside to normal Riser cable via a quality RJ45 coupler?

Am I overthinking this? The total run from the camera to the switch probably no more than 60' and the outdoor part is probably 15' of that. Once inside it's tucked up inside the drop ceiling tiles.

It's been a few years since I looked at the codes. My memory, which needs to be verified, is that you're allowed to run up to 50' of the outdoor cable from the building entrance before switching over to CMR or CMP.

So do we generally recommend switching once indoors? I’m doing this myself and not for business

Is how you guys handle this as well?

Since you are doing this for yourself then I am sure you are free to run it as is. Just note that the jack on the CMX (outdoor) is just has UV and moisture resistance. Not fire. So in case of a fire then you would be at disadvantage as the extinguishing point of the jacket itself will probably be lacking.
