I am a long time user of Blue Iris and I always used OpenVPN app on iphone to get to my ASUS router and access the Blue Iris ISO app when not at home when I receive alerts from pushover. It has worked flawlessly. I recently got an Xfinity gateway XB8 and no longer using the ASUS router. I was able to setup the OpenVPN VPN on a Synology NAS on port 1194 and I'm able to connect to that VPN from my Iphone through my Xfinity gateway but I can't access anything on my home network, so I can't access the Blue Iris iOS app.

Blue Iris is working fine after the router change to Xfinity and all I had to do was change the ip addresses from the 192.xxxxx to 10.xxxx. My ASUS router handled the setup of the OpenVPN last time so it worked. I had to set it up this time on the Synolgy and I'm sure I don't have some of the settings correct. As I said I can see I'm connected to the Synology via OpenVPN app on my Iphone but that is where it ends, no internal access but I can still access internet on the phone. I think I set the VPN config file to be split tunnel so it uses my actual cellular connection for external websites when connected to the Synology via my iPhone. I hope this is just not all confusing. I will also say that I can't access the Synology NAS either when connected to the VPN that is on the Synology NAS.

Anyone done this that could help me out. I can post any information needed.

I used to have my ATT fiber router setup for "IP passthrough" mode to my ASUS router and then used OPENVPN to access my home network. Google "IP passthrough" for your ATT router model number to see how since ATT routers do not have a true Bridge Mode to make this more effective. Have to do things like disable ATT router WIFI (use your own). Speeds fell as well going to my ASUS main router. Unfortunately, ATT changed my router and I haven't had time to go back yet and fix it. Now it's easier to use free remote access software such as Chrome Remote Desktop or RustDesk to access my camera server.

Part of the VPN setup is defining what local network subnets a user can access once they properly connect to the service. If your overall network changed from a 192.xxx.xxx.xxx subnet to a 10.xxx.xxx.xxx subnet and you did not edit your VPN configuration, I suspect this is your problem. You need to edit your VPN configuration to allow access to the 10.xxx network.
