Ooppss, Folks can't get into the house or turn on A/C thanks to Google

In other words, while cloud access was borked, people had to actually walk up and touch their thermostats and door locks like they did before five years ago? The horror.

The thing that irks me about the nest thermostats and the like.
In normal day to day life of a family, If you are turning down/up the temp, if the temp doesn't stay at said set point for at least 8hrs. You aren't saving anything.
Especially if you use a heat pump for heat. Much more cost effective to find a temp everyone can live with and leave....it....alone.
