Gator vs bass boat... See this all the time.
They literally stand their ground until bumped. This is why I don't advise kayaks...

Here its obvious he sees the bass boat 40 yds away and decides to park his scaly ass right in the middle of the canal

It takes a bump from the lure/boat to get him to move. Even then he cold trailed the fisherman out to the basin and hung out until he left.
