Intalled new camera, first camera first time. Im brand new to this. I have a DS918+ I installed surveillance station. I used ip camera quick connect. The camera is found, i put in the username and password for the camera. I can test connection and get a screen shot in the little test connection box, I save settings and the camera tries to activate. When it stops trying to activate is reports disconnected. I can connect dirctly to the camera in chome by typing in ip address and entering the username and password Dahua webapp. The camera funtions perfiectly. What am i missing. My DS918+ reports i have 2 camera liences to use.

Camera is connected by Ethernet cable through POE switch

I believe so, I have gotten it to activate by defaulting it to ONVIF generic. Can you explain what you mean by activate or initialize please. I’m very new to the ip camera world.
 
Camera is initialized. I have gotten the SS to ativate the camera by changing it to PAL mode. I'm now trying to modify the default ip to some thing differant than the default.
 
If you log into the camera directly, you should be able to change the ip as long as you are on the same subset etc. ie. 192.x.x or 10.x.x
 
I was able to change the first camera ip, the second one i have not gone back to try and change it after first failed attempt. I should have some time to work on it this weekend. Ill pass along my results. I may still need some help figuring it out. Thank you for asking.
