Hey

I need a new Driveway Cam to spot people with BI and Deepstack.

My current camera is the Hikvision DS-2CD2185FWD-I - but the Night quality is awefull.
I know the Spot isnt perfect with an big white wall Infront but that bad?

First thing to do is adjust the existing camera so that wall is not in the view. That's literally blinding the camera.

Maybe he's trying to watch the door and the driveway.....
Sometimes 1 camera is not able to do 2 jobs well.

By careful positioning he can keep a very close eye on that door and still get the wall out of view. If that's not possible, time to decide which is more important, the driveway or the door.

Will test this tomorow.
Or do you think masking is also possible? Otherwise the camera looks very closely at the neighbors Window

As @sebastiantombs said, adjust it to eliminate the wall, as much as you can. If you want to see the door, you still don't need to see any wall on this side of the door.

The 5442 series of cameras is very good at night. However, I have an LED version and do not like it. I ended up re-purposing it to a location with a street light and turned the LEDs off. @Flintstone61 examples have a lot of street lights so you don't see where the LED stops. He may not even have it on.

You can probably do some adjustments with the camera GUI to improve your current image.I am not familiar with Hikvision, but I bet is is similar to the capabilities of the 5442 series in terms of adjustments, and playing around with back-lighting should get a lot better adjusted. The 5442 has a larger sensor by a factor of two, so night vision will be much better. And, the dome looks dirty, try cleaning it.

I don't have it on. i can only recommend what I've bought and used. I'm sure the 5442 non LED is fine. i can search my amazon orders faster than I can look up the link for the loryta 5442 2.8 regular model

Looks like you may have some image quality issues also due to the dome .. try an image capture with the dome off to test.

Note this model has been replaced with the 5442T-ASE which is extended ethernet capable, 800 meters, but is functionally the same camera. Domes are notorious for internal reflections like that. If you do pull the dome as an experiment, check the foam ring around the lens to make sure it is tight against the inside of the dome when re-assembled.
