My review of the SDT8C842-8P-FA-APV-0280 2×1/1.8" CMOS 8MP 42x (versus the PTZ1A2M-25X 2MP 25×)

The 25x at full zoom...

Looking at the size difference between the elliptical snow field in the bottom left, it seems like the zoom of the 42x delivers. I just had unrealistic expectations.

The panoramic camera of the 42x:

Very nice...

Did you use white light on the camera? or some spot light next to the camera?

the white moving spots looks like dust reflections from the light...

I would invest/install some white spotlights (narrow beam) / flood lights (wide beam) on the building or fence - but in some distance from camera..

this should eliminate white dust reflections...

It's just using the white lights built into the camera. I will look into the floodlights, thanks!

That 42x owl shot

Can you tell us actual approx distance from Camera and I assume PTZ white LEDs are in use?

The distance from the camera to the owl was only 30 feet or so. The deadwood he was on is in this photo with the camera fully zoomed out.

Yes, lowest level of white LEDs on the detail camera was used.
