I can't remember what thread it was, but someone was talking about rigging up a lawn sprinkler to soak door checkers. Well here is one that is marketed to repel animals from your garden. But it could be used to wet door checkers.

Now I have not purchased this and am not recommending this. Just pointing out that it exists.
