The BS money stories are coming out of the woodwork. A couple from today:

The reason: "The U.S. Mint obviously expects the price of silver to keep rising. ", with the addition " Are they expecting the price of silver to blow way past the $100 mark in 2026? "

Well, maybe the price will or won't blow past $100, but I suspect the real reason is the tight availability of physical silver coupled with 31 USC 5112(e) that requires the mint to produce silver eagles as needed to meet public demand (".... the Secretary shall mint and issue, in qualities and quantities that the Secretary determines are sufficient to meet public demand..."). Not enough supply? Raise the price to lower the demand.

Why Has the U.S. Mint Suddenly Raised the Price of One Ounce Silver Coins to $169?

Another is a no-facts clickbait story from zerohedge.

It's about Maryland residents who are thousands of dollars behind on their electric bill, as posted on a facebook group. Other than hyperbole, there are no facts to support that these big bills are due to the rates in the area as opposed to user behavior. Does the story give the kWh rate? No. Does the story say how much electricity these users consume, or if it's even typical or reasonable? No. Does it say how long the deficits have been accumulating? No. Does it say if they use the electricity for other than normal residential use? No. The only "facts" are that there are a lot of people that owe a lot of money on their power bill, and a facebook group for them to vent.

I know it's strange, but I just finished our taxes and I don't see any change from previous years. I couldn't find anywhere extra where I would get more back on my taxes. Also, I couldn't find any boxes to check to get some extra $2000.00 or whatever the latest promise is (was)...

I was discussing this with my wife. We're not sure which directions we should go. Should we open a Somalian Day Care or should we quickly move to Greenland (or Iceland? :p ) and pick up some quick money to vote for getting annexed into the US? I'm sure it'll be ok to vote illegally there as it for sure is here...

I hope you weren't using the "postcard" 1040 Trump promised in his first term... those were never actually adopted... I'm sure the correct 2025 1040 has all sorts of new boxes... you know, to exclude ss income, overtime, tips, blah, blah, blah...

Then I'd assume you're under 65, because the 6k per spouse deduction does make a difference for older folks, even when their social security does get taxed.
