True and like just about all Stonks over that time period.

I still like it, I bought 250 more this morning. I’m at 1250

It’s just frustrating the last 2-3 weeks

It’s my only holding going into this weekend

My current SCHD holding count is 4,850.
Wow
You're committed!

I'm probably at my SCHD limit for my trading accounts.
Once the crash is over I'll invest as I posted earlier, adding VGT, XLV and a little bit of GLD? (I keep flip flopping on GLD)

Recall this is just 10%, the other 90% all in fixed income

Even over the next 5 years as we finish converting my and the Mrs IRA's to the Roth's (another 20%) we'll likely keep that in CD's or similar as long as I can get 4-5%

My ultimate plan allocation is 50% SCHD. 25% SPYM, 15% SPMO, & 10% QQQM. This portfolio should get about a total return matching the S&P 500. Plus I have 3 years of emergency cash getting 5.0% with CSHI to use if there is a market crash.
I just retired and waiting on my 401K rollover check so I can finish building my portfolio. Next year when I am in a lower tax bracket I will be doing some Roth conversions.
Are you retired yet?

Yessir I retired 12/31/23

Did/doing same. Goal is to stay or keep as much as possible in the 12% bracket.

So after SS and taxable investment income, add IRA withdrawal then minus deductions, you can pretty much ballpark how much you can withdraw/move to Roth, which of course is also taxable.

Of course the key is how much of your investments are taxable

I think the 12% bracket top is $100,800 MFJ for 2026

So hypothetical calc for married filing jointly (not my numbers)

This is simplified, I could be missing something (cap gains, State Tax?) but it gets you pretty close

The AGI limit on the $6 extra deduction from the BBB expires in 2028 and it doesn’t really limit you, you just get a reduced $ deduction as you exceed $150K

ss combined$ 60,000
15% of SS$ (9,000)
Part time job$ 24,000
small pension?$ 2,400
Taxable Interest/Div's$ 20,000
$ 97,400
IRA withdraw to Roth$ 50,000
AGI Gross$ 147,400
Deductions
std$ 32,200
sr added$ 1,650
bonus (AGI limit 150K)$ 12,0006K ea over 65
Tot Deducts$ 45,850
Taxable income$ 101,550 AGI minus Deducts

I know enough about AI to be dangerous...

But this sounds bad. See my posts in the AI thread

How will markets react Monday?

Trump is not giving you a dividend check for $5000. They're not giving you $9,000 to stay home with your kids.
They didn't give you the DOGE check. Or the tariff refund. Or $2 gas. Or cheaper groceries. Or a healthcare plan. Or 600% off your prescriptions.
At some point, gullibility stops being an accident and starts being a choice.
