I was looking at a Dahua NVR that is 80Mbps. Can somebody put 80Mbps in perspective. I have no idea exactly what that translates to in terms of vid quality it can handle from 4 IP cams. Thanks for any assistance.

Look at the camera spec sheets for the cams you're considering.
Find the bit rate.

The bit rate varies, based on how you configure the camera (resolution, frame rate, etc) and the complexity of the scene...

80Mbps is low, comparatively speaking. 200Mbps is common.
Secondly, an 80Mbps NVR may lack in other areas as well. (based on an assumption this a low end NVR)

you also have to consider substreams can take a few Mbps and so does live viewing.. thats typically maximum throughput regardless how u stack em up.

4x10Mbps Cameras Recording = 40Mbps incoming
4x10Mbps Cameras Viewing = 40Mbps outgoing
Total: 80Mbps

Now i understand. I would rather future proof what i deploy. i will look into other Dahua NVRs. I will look into the newer series from Dahua that can handle more Mbps. Thanks for the assistance.
