I can't see where a WAN IP being "static" or "dynamic" would be an issue if your WAN access was configured to address a dynamic WAN IP using DDNS and a hostname. However, I can see an issue if the WAN IP was "private" and not "public", meaning not exposed to the Internet therefore not accessible via WAN.
