Live Feed Delay with UI3 on Ipad

Hi,

I am running Blue Iris 5.9.9.73 x64. I have an old iPad that I would like to use as a live view tablet to have always displaying my camera feeds. I am getting the orange clock icon in the UI3 app, and then get the yellow pop up that indicates the live stream is delayed constantly when I am trying to use the iPad as a live stream. However, if I remote into the PC that the cameras are connected to, I can view the live stream with no issues.

I am logging into the UI3 app via a ZeroTier connection between the iPad and the camera computer. I have tried setting the "Blue Iris Settings -> Cameras -> Video during Remote Desktop" setting to unrestricted. I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on what to try next? I would like to use this iPad as a full time screen if possible.

Thanks

What browser are you running in the iPad?
What version iOS is the iPad?
Is the iPad on Wi-Fi?

I am using the safari browser on iPadOS 18.1.1. Yes it’s over WiFi, I was debating if going with a raspberry pi with a separate monitor would be better long term.

Is the iPad remotely connecting, or is it connected to the same home network that your BI server is on?

If this is not a remote connection, then all you need to do is have the browser on your iPad connect to the server. No need to go the ZeroTier route.

I have an iPad that I use for UI3 and I use Chrome to directly access the server on 192.168.1.88:81 (where my server is 88). I get no lag.

Don't know if this is related, but there's a live feed delay in writing material to the desktop. I've had issues where I've wanted to check an event that's happened moments before only to find that playback isn't available with the latest available clip being several minutes behind the live event. Live it's fine. 10 minutes or more before the live feed fine. 1 to a few minutes before the live time, and the written file isn't available for that period.

Thanks for the suggestion I didn’t realize you could do this. I tried connecting this way through my WiFi network but I’m still getting the same issue where I get the orange clock delay and then eventually the yellow popup that there was too much delay and the video restarted.

Maybe your WIFI connection is not that good? Have you tried a WIFI signal meter to see if the connection is good enough? I have not had any issue like yours.
