Hey! Earlier this year I set up a BI PC with all the help from the site, and many thanks. It's been flawless. Had been able to view cameras remotely via OpenVPN and BI3. Until, tonight. I tried it as it had been awhile. Suddenly, I could not log on to the LAN. I could Remote Desktop Connect with no problem. I ran IP Scanner, and discovered the LAN address had changed, and the new address was able to connect via BI3. This is supposed to be a static IP. Can a Win update change this? Can someone remind me where I look for the LAN address and make it static? (It's been awhile). Thanks!

I would honestly set the computer to use DHCP addresses and then assign a reserved ip address for the BI machine in your router. This way it doesn't matter if the computer updates, etc because it is always going to "ask" for an ip address from the router and the router will always assign the same reserved address. This way you can be sure the ip address that the BI computer is using is always the same.
In Windows if you want to assign the computer a static address, you go to Network Settings. then click on the network interface you want to change (ie the wired network port), that should bring up another window where you would click on Properties and then choose the Internet Protocol Version 4
