Bezos... "You could double the taxes I pay, and it's not gonna help that teacher in Queens. I promise you."

Even an idiot could reply to that... you are right. Since you only pay 1% in taxes, doubling it won't help... how about politicians fix loopholes in tax code and you pay 15 to 20%. That could help teachers in Queens, I promise you.

POOR Bezos doesn't need time to consider... influencing/bribing politicians/lawmakers is far better the bottom line; he'll just spend a bit more on that and carry on. And he can rest easy knowing he's not actually breaking any laws... he's fulfilling his fiduciary responsibility to shareholders. A real sweetheart.

Bezos is a complete idiot - he contradicts himself every time speaks. People in that top 1% of global wealth think they become self-entitled and they can convince people whatever comes to their mind. That shear arrogance is going to eventually land him in severe consequences. Imagine he runs for president - leading in only their self-interest

this mentality seems to work well with the current administration lol

Everyone should have skin in the game... Nobody should get a free ride. That said, a graduated tax makes sense, but we really need to eliminate 98% of the tax code and make everything simpler. Of course, that will never happen, because the lawyers and accountants would all be out of business.
