Hamas won this war two years ago.
He knew what would be Israel response in advance and what would be the reaction of other nation to Israel response.
Hamas also knew Israel will not be able to save the hostages or eradicate Hamas.
I think Israel also knew that, but they did not have any good moves, it's like going into a trap in chess, once you did the first mistake you're bound to lose.

Hamas just one piece of the puzzle .. we can add Iran, Hezbollah, Houthis also ..

I am not certain how to evaluate the entire Iran vs Israel War here, certainly from what I can tell Team Iran has lost a lot of the battles so far

I think the people of Gaza who call themselves Palestinians are a huge problem with their Kill the Jews Ideology. Which in my opinion came from Iran who funds them. The Oct. 7 campaign, like you said, was well planned as with the outcome, Israel's response.

Now what does Israel do with Gaza, the people? I don't buy into Israel is deliberately starving them, that is Israel's plan??? Of course not...

How do you stop their embedded Hate for the Jewish people?

I know Israel is small, one part of Israel is only 12 miles wide. But they are not over populated. When the wife and I were there about 15 years ago, it reminded us of Texas, that is much of the land is not populated...why Israel would want more desert land does not make sense unless it is to widen their borders from their enemies.

Truthfully I do not know though, this is just my opinion and what makes sense to me.

I still have the original question, how did Israel with all of it's security, believe me they have some of the best in the world, miss the planned Hamas attack Oct. 7

I do not see how this greater Israel is a possibility.

Israel gave up the Sinai .. which if there was enough support for greater Israel it never should have happened.

I can see Israel expanding to the west bank.

Otherwise Israel already gave up on their allies holding the buffer zone in Lebanon, iirc was a Christian militia group of some sort.
