Welcome new members! Hardy, Har, Har, Har...

Very important.
We're now touching on the ultimate problem with attacking Iran and why it hasn't been done by previous administrations.

================
Dimona: Israel's Nuclear Red Line

Dimona is Israel's key nuclear reactor in the Negev Desert, built in the 1960s with French assistance, it produces plutonium for warheads.
Experts believe it supports Israel's estimated 80–400 nuclear weapons.

Israel never confirms the arsenal, but Dimona is its core. Why Iran targets it?

Iran sees Dimona as proof of Israeli nuclear dominance.

Since March 2026, Tehran has threatened strikes on it. Recent missiles triggered sirens in Dimona as retaliation for Israeli attacks on Iranian sites.

Why this matters?A direct hit risks radioactive contamination from plutonium and spent fuel. It could endanger Negev residents and cross Israel's ultimate red line.

Geopolitical turning point
Even a partial success ends Israel's nuclear ambiguity. It breaks the regional nuclear taboo.

Gulf states may rush to build their own programs. U.S. involvement deepens, oil markets spike, and the war turns existential.

Dimona is Israel's final insurance policy, and Iran aiming for it pushes the Middle East toward a dangerous new threshold.

An even harsher view of what just changed

Makes you wonder what the US would do if Iran backed terrorist group hit a nuclear power plant in US causing a massive radiation disaster.

Well we didn't have Air Superiority yesterday, but it is a new day so....?

Looks like USA and Israel has had this for awhile now imho

air superiority

noun

  1. (warfare) A dominance in the air power of one side's air forces over the other side's during a military campaign. It is defined in the NATO Glossary as "That degree of dominance in the air battle of one force over another that permits the conduct of operations by the former and its related land, sea, and air forces at a given time and place without prohibitive interference by the opposing force."

Joe Kent: Beyond the Resignation Letter
Nick Freitas

This video features Nick Freitas analyzing statements made by political candidate Joe Kent regarding the threat posed by Iran and the history of the Iraq War. Freitas highlights a contradiction between Kent's previous analysis of Iran as a major threat and his recent assertions that Israel manipulated the U.S. into the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Key Points:

Iran's Role in Iraq:
Freitas quotes Kent from an appearance on the Shawn Ryan Show (0:17), where Kent describes how Iranian proxies and militias filled the power vacuum in Iraq after the U.S. invasion (0:38).
Contradicting Narratives: Freitas presents multiple examples of Kent identifying Iran as a persistent, coordinated threat throughout 2024 (1:41, 2:02, 5:15), contrasting this with Kent's newer claim that Israel was solely responsible for the Iraq War (5:46).
Historical Context of the Iraq War: Freitas argues against the idea that Israel orchestrated the war, citing historical reports that Israeli officials actually warned the Bush administration that toppling Saddam Hussein would empower Iran (7:51).
Justification for Intervention: Freitas outlines other factors leading to the Iraq War, including Saddam's invasion of Kuwait, his aggression toward the Kurds, and his praise of the 9/11 attacks (10:05-10:55).
Conclusion on Foreign Policy: Freitas concludes that while Israel is concerned about Iran, the threat Iran poses is rooted in its own ideology and ambition for regional dominance (13:48).

They lost an F-35 yesterday, possibly two.
Supposedly they've lost 9 Predator drones and not counting the 3 fighters that the Kuwaiti guy shot down 2 weeks ago, Israel is said to have lost a couple of F-16s;

and another view, doubles down on Israel and USA wanting to clear out Iran of the Mullahs

Take out some more and more will continue to rise.
Its not gonna be over with air power and missiles alone.

My point and that of that post, is that we're sleep walking into a possible nuclear mess. This has always been the concern over a ME war
Russia, China, US, Israel, others, it only takes one miscalculation.
The post points to the fact that if you can take out strategic targets with hypersonics, the receiving team may decide they have no choice but to use nukes.

So far Iran has been very good about escalation in response to attacks on them and announcing them. They have shown restraint. For instance they didnt hit O&G infrastructure until Israel did. They didn't shoot at Dimona until the US hit their nuke facility last night.

Its being discussed heavily online by War folks. Not defending them, just observing what many others are seeing. By and large they are in a defensive posture and its become a tit for tat exchange

I still have no doubt, as I've said 3X now, that US/Israel will "prevail" whatever that looks like. And I dont want to see our guys shot up.

But this will not end soon, there;s not likely to be any "awakening" among the Iranian population and at best it will be a long insurgency for months/years to come
