Is the regime in Iran soon to be toast?

IMHO, a "maritime/naval battle" implies ship-to-ship battle. I would not categorize ship-to-shore or vice versa as a maritime/naval battle, ergo my sarcastic commentary. I don't really see the Iranians in the water at this point unless it's just peeing in their pants. The ship-to-shore and shore-to-ship battle is already going on.
The ships Iranians had didn't have any modern capabilities. It's like those Ukraine ships that was moored in their port. Good for anti piracy or piracy operations but not against a modern naval ship.

But they do have Kilo class submarine. In a high traffic shipping lane it could technically take out a war ship. Finding a submarine is still a tough job.

Yeah, not buying the explanation, one aircraft sure but three. Is there some IFF spoofing by a foreign navy in the vicinity.

Iran does have MIG-29 but even the Russians don't use that junk. Ukraine does use them but not a single Ukraine MIG-29 has scored a air to air kill against Russia. Their tactics in Ukraine is to launch western air to ground glide bombs by flying low and then climb at the last moment to launch the munition. Ukraine pilots say a 50:50 chance of getting shot down by a Russain SAM or their Su35 fighters which out range them by 2x in terms of missles launch distance.

So a F15 which is equal to Su35 but with even better long range air to air missiles. There is no way a Mig-29 can come close to kuwait.

Either a IFF spoofing or some one deliberately shot it down with a SAM and there is no shortage of trigger happy muslims in that region who pretend to be friendly.

Damn, does the media not understand that Trump ain't like Biden who would announce to the enemy what our plans are? Keep them guessing. It annoys me to no end that even info about toilets backing up on the USS Ford is leaked out unless it's fake like the WWII transmission about Midway.

You have to wonder if there are soldiers in other "friendly" countries possibly sympathetic to your enemies. I'm sure cases of rogue soldiers are scattered throughout warfare history.

absolutely a threat issue ..

turn coating is always a concern

Tanker hit in port, was unloaded, so not as bad as it could be.

2 countries hurt the most by the closure of the Straights are Iran and China

US Flagged Tanker Stena Imperative Hit in Bahrain | One Dead and Two Injured | Crew Evacuated
What's Going on With Shipping?

Mar 2, 2026 What's Going on With Shipping - Maritime Industry Today
On the morning of March 2, 2026, the US-flagged tanker Stena Imperative was struck by two projectiles while in the shipyard in Bahrain. The attack caused a fire on board and killed one dockworker and injured two others. The fire was extinguished and the American crew evacuated the ship. At the Strait of Hormuz, ships remain on either side as War Risk Insurance is renegotiated by the shipping companies to allow the resumption of voyages through the Strait.

Tankers not going through the straights .. risk levels too high, insurance cancelled .. war risk cover cancelled in some areas

Maybe they forgot to pay their monthly subscription fees.

The arm chair warriers on the other side are now claiming it was a HQ9 or a S300 that got the F15. Theoretically possible since a good chunk of Kuwait air space is within range of those system but Israel did destroy a Iranian S300 2 years back.
It's possible they got new shipments and briefly turned it On now after carefully observing the sorties flight path of the previous days.
Chinese fan boys also claim that their missiles can be guided by satellite or AWACs or Chinese warships.

Regarding the F15. As usual the first casualty of war is truth. There is so much propaganda.

When a F117 was shot down in serbia it took more than 2 decades to find out that a second F117 was also shot, damaging it beyond repair.

Or even loosing of two F18 last year, navy first said it was landing accident but later on it was revealed that the F18 had to take evasive action to dodge a surface to air missile launched by Houthis which led to the accident.

Or the aircraft carrier during the previous campaign against Houthis, where it was later revealed that the a suface to surface missile landed less than 200 meters from USS Eisenhower.

Or the Ghost of Kyiv in Ukraine.

Day three and the war continues to expand

Today we're getting into what's happening with the war in Iran as it enters it's third day. We started off with a press briefing from Secretary Hegseth and GEN Caine giving some new details on operations that included pushing back on any proposed timeline from the press. Iran has expanded their strike campaign across the region and continues to hit US bases as well as a variety of civilian targets in multiple countries.

This is the universal problem in all muslim countries, the Sunni and Shia might hate each other but the hate US and Israel more. Easiest thing for the average muslim there is to leak infomation to Iran.

Just think what would have happened if ICE was spending the night there.

Looks like the conversion to submarines worked for some of them.
