Is the regime in Iran soon to be toast?

VesselFinder and MarineTraffic picked up the AIS signal of the American guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112). The Arleigh Burke-class ship is currently sailing in the waters of the Persian Gulf, heading toward the critical choke point of the Strait of Hormuz.

Army Colonel Explains Why Iran’s New Leaders May Be the Last Ones
The President's Daily Brief

Apr 11, 2026
Mike Baker speaks with retired Army Colonel Wesley Martin about the war in Iran and the unintended consequences of America’s bombing campaign. Martin argues that by eliminating senior leadership, U.S. strikes have effectively “opened up the promotion system,” accelerating the rise of a new generation inside the regime—one that could reshape Iran’s future, or mark its final chapter.

This video features an interview between Mike Baker and retired Army Colonel Wesley Martin regarding the current situation in Iran and the impact of recent U.S. military strikes. The discussion challenges the narrative that the U.S. is facing a 'new' Iranian regime, arguing instead that the regime remains fundamentally the same, albeit more dangerous.

Key takeaways from the discussion:

  • Leadership Resilience: Col. Martin argues that by eliminating senior leadership, U.S. strikes have inadvertently cleared the way for a younger, more radicalized generation to take control (0:17-0:45). This new generation is fully indoctrinated in the regime’s extremist ideology and is prepared to operate based on established, brutal plans (0:28-0:42).
  • Military Assessment: While the Colonel acknowledges significant success in degrading Iran's conventional military assets, such as air defense and naval capabilities (2:45-2:56), he highlights that the U.S. intelligence community underestimated the resilience of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IRGC’s ability to operate in decentralized, independent cells has allowed them to maintain effectiveness despite losses (3:13-3:48).
  • Short-Term Outlook: Col. Martin describes the current situation as a stalemate that is likely to worsen in the near future (7:06-7:26). He suggests that the regime will continue to aggressively suppress domestic dissent (8:59-9:18).
  • Strategic Alternatives: Instead of direct military intervention, which the Colonel believes would be decimated by the regime's drone swarms, he advocates for working with the Iranian people and opposition groups, specifically the National Council of Resistance of Iran, to transition toward a government based on the rule of law (7:31-8:07).

Not surprised. Sometimes doing the right thing may seem like you are doing the wrong thing to others. IF we follow thru, the world and the Middle East with be a much safer place. President Trump knows this. He can't hold another term, so he is doing the right thing.

Not a Trump Follower, but I do love most of his policies. Including taking out the leadership and military of the Iranian Religious monsters. I HOPE he stays the course until this is done. Then let the Persian people have their country and their way of life back.

Special envoy Steve Witcoff and the POTUS’s son in law, Jared Kushner, were met by 12 PhD’s from Iran while JD took orders from Bibi.

Trump attended a UFC fight in Miami with Rubio.

This is the level of concern the U.S. brought to the table.

How about all the winning?Inflation, no mass deportations, financial fraud on an industrial scale, while Americans struggle to buy gas and groceries.

Totally agreed.
However, I'm quite sure his advisors told him this is not going to work.
But he didn't listen and got Iran stronger (at least as I see it).

Israel failed to handle Gaza and Lebanon.
The outcome with Iran was clear.
