I want to add 3-4 cameras in a new location. However, I'd prefer to not run 3-4 new lines to that area. I can add a 90w poe++ injector, run 1 line, then hook the cameras up to a PoE Passthrough Switch like the one linked to below. Is that a reliable option?
I knew on paper it would work. I just didn’t know if people’s real world experience has been different. I had seen the 1 to 2 splitters that fit inside the junction boxes mentioned on here before but I don’t recall seeing something like this mentioned as a solution.

OK, I received the Sodola POE Extender on Friday, 6/2 and got it installed Monday 6/5. So far so good but as we all know, time will tell after a few months of 'Bama summer heat, humidity, rain and likely some thunderstorms (hopefully not severe).

Does anyone have something like this in use on their Poe Nvr? Three cameras in and one cable out. Then 1 cable in and three cables into cameras. Should work like this, right? Each camera should then have its own port.

There are 3 issues I think.
1. The NVR might not be able to provide enough power for 3 cameras via one port.
2. The NVR software may not support multiple cameras data coming in one port.
3. The splitter you pictured above doesn't mention PoE on it.

I currently only use a Lan splitter with two cameras. It works without any problems. I'm not sure about three. But shouldn't there be enough of each port?
If it works for two, then it should work for three as long as the total power used by the 3 cameras does not exceed the capability of the power source.

This is a 3 port ethernet switch that needs to be powered. It is not a POE device. Yes, you can use it with an NVR by plugging its "1" network cable into a switch that the NVR's network port is also connected to. You cannot use the NVR's POE ports with this if more than one camera is connected to it. You will also have to supply power to each camera.
There are POE powered switches that will accomplish what I think you want to do (but not using the NVR's POE ports). This is not one of them.

I will use port 5,6,7 from the Nvr and then into the 3 ports with short Lan cables. Then with a long one into the single one to the position where I want to mount all three. Then I need another Lan splitter and will do the same again. It should actually work like this without any problems.
