IR illuminator Suggestion

Hello:

I've looked at the Wiki but link looks like a broken one. Could you please suggest if I really would need the IR illuminator for dark area if I am using IPC-HDW5231R-ZE. If yes, what brand is the good one to use.

Those Ray Tec units are incredible but VERY pricey as BICK mentions..

I can highly recommend this CM Vision model with wide angle coverage and very minimal hot spot. Been running a couple of these for over a year now with now problems. Very reliable.

Can any of the recommender illuminators above operate on PoE?

I've settled on the CMVision IR-40 as my favorite. All but a very few illuminators need a 12 volt DC supply, generally provided by a POE splitter at the camera location. Here's a thread detailing what I found 4 watt IR illuminator comparison
