IPC T54IR-ZE-S3 initial setup for mobile and desktop

Is your tripwire set to one way or both?

Ideally, IVS works best the closer the action is to the center of the image.

What is your primary objective of this camera - to capture vehicles on that drive or the parking pad?

A readjustment of the angle is probably in order and possibly two cameras depending on your goals.
direction is set to "Both". trying to monitor coming and going on driveway. The pad up close is a bonus. That's where delivery vans park. For example, yesterday only caught it parked and leaving, not coming in.

Yeah an angle adjustment and zoom is in order if the driveway is the primary goal.

Post an image of your IVS rule. I think the one I saw earlier was an intrusion box.

Better yet,, instead of guessing, why not post a video showing the IVS rules with a vehicle entering and we can tell whats going on

So, I redrew the tripwire box, angled a little differently and Voila, it picked up the middle of night car coming into driveway. If it works during the day, maybe that was the cure. I'll see. I'm at work during the day so I have to wait till night to make changes.

I'm no expert but it seems like the intrusion/tripwire "box" should not be a box when using the tripwire type rule but a zig zag line.

And a side question; would there be any benefit to using both a tripwire zig zag combined with an intrusion box in their situation?

so this is the new IVS Tripwire. Seems to be working, day and night.
Looks like you need more light than what is provided by the T54IR-ZE-S3 for the scene. The IR of the IPC T54IR-ZE-S3 is weak and has a hotspot in the center, which may be the cause of detection/non-detection errors at night. I had the same problem in dark areas until I replaced three T54IR-ZE-S3 cameras with Color4M-T cameras.

Not my experience. My 5442 S3 isnt that bad at all...

My experience with the 3449 TIOC PRO (Color 4M-T) was that its LED's peter out at about 30ft

Here's the 5442 (54IR) by itself - 60ft to edge of neighbors porch

Here compared to the Color4M-T , both with added light from the 5442 (54IR) looking at the dock
(have to ignore the dead plants on the current 5442 image from our freeze)

That's definitely not the experience I have had. Just replaced another T54IR-ZE-S3 with a Color4M-T yesterday. Here are a couple screenshots off my NVR. The T54IR of course is a zoom, and the Color4M-T is 3.6mm, but you can still see where the Color4M-T looks a lot better at night and it is even better at capturing movement. 1st pic is the T54IR-ZE-S3 and the second is the Color4M-T. In the backyard a Color4M-T (2.8mm) illuminates the whole yard with no other added lights. (3rd pic) No hotspot is definitely a plus with the Color4M-T.

May be the turret vs bullet?

Anyway we’d have to go back through the settings etc to compare appropriately, (my example is running 0-5ms on the 54IR (5442) but in the thread where I did the testing I got same results. Color4M-T may have been a touch brighter but the image quality was still not as good as the S3 and didn’t throw light (white OR IR) as far as the 54IR S3

I’ll buy your S3’s!

I'm ok with the IR light. as long as it's picking up vehicles at night.

Since your image is darker than we expect, either some IR bounce just offscreen we aren't seeing affecting the exposure or maybe just the angle you are at, I would try a vehicle on the drive with headlights off like a perp sneaking up and see if it picks it up.

I mean I would if that was something I was concerned could happen.

I'll try to play with the angle this weekend if able, to see if that helps the illumination. And pictures as well.

See pictures attached.
