IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 and WEB5 SW Issues

Getting the hang of it

I have owned 7 of the above cameras for a couple of years now and each one was setup on a Windows 10 PC. No real issues on this PC.

Recently I decided I would start editing Camera settings, rules, etc. on a Windows 11 PC and while I had no problems with the settings I was not able to get a view of the camera stream. In fact the stream window was blank.
I confirmed that the WebSocketServer.exe was installed and running. I decided to uninstall both WebSocketServer.exe and WebSocketServer23450.exe, reboot the PC and cameras and much to my surprise the video stream worked on all cameras (even though the SW said I need to install the WebSocketServer SW.) I thought I had fixed the problem until I tried editing some of the cameras AI rules. Unlike the Win10 PC I was unable to maximize the little rules window making editing rules very difficult. In the interim I zoomed my browser page to 500% when editing.

Other things I tried was to move the WebSocket... from the windows 10 to 11 PC and the result was the same. As soon as I rebooted the PC I would get no video on the Win11 PC. via the web interface I also tried re-installing the websocket from scratch. Unless I completely removed this WebSocet SW I could not get a video stream while editing rules and/or within full screen option. I tried all of the above on a second Win11 PC with the same results.

Finally, all 7 cameras and their AI rules work fine within BI. The only issue is the web interface editing. Despite being 2 Web versions the problem is the same for all cameras.

3 of the 7 have the following
ONVIF Version
22.12(V3.1.0.1403710)
System Version
V3.100.0000000.6.R, Build Date: 2023-08-02
Web Version
V5.01.0.1532205
Algorithm Version
V3.5.26.0
Security Baseline Version
V2.3

The other 4 have
ONVIF Version
22.06(V3.1.0.1349397)
System Version
V3.100.0000000.5.R, Build Date: 2023-05-09
Web Version
V5.01.0.1431017
Algorithm Version
V3.5.6.0
Security Baseline Version
V2.3

Has anyone have any idea what I need to do to get this to work on a Win11 PC?

Funny you should bring this up.

Just this week I had a similar problem. It is related to websocketserver and I think I created the problem by allowing it to install while messing with my triple lens cam. Then all of a sudden all of my WEB5 cams had the same issue (Win11)

Historically I get the warning prompt for websocketserver and hit cancel everytime I login to a WEB5 camera. This has always worked fine using plain edge

What I finally did was go to task manager and stop both websocketserver and webactivex processes.

Then I went to program files (x86)/webrec/torch and deleted the folder with the most recent date (that day) and rebooted.

Now I’m in the same spot as you. I again get the warning prompt for websocketserver, say CANCEL and all seems to work fine except the double click to expand the video feed screens
(I also get as before the prompt at bottom wanting me to install the plugin which I cancel)

The other thing now different is that to use the video window expand I used to have to use “Edge in IE mode”. This was the only functionality not working on plain Edge.
Now when I login using IE mode, it of course shows NO video and wants me to download/install the web plugin again, which is what started the whole mess!

My problem may have recently started as well. I was sure I have been editing settings/rules on the Win11 but because its not something I do every day I can't be sure. Sometime in the past I must have accept the prompt to install the plugins in the Win11 PC. At such time I would think I would have noticed the video stream problem.
Anyways, thanks for confirming it is not just me with the problem

Update:
This is a version issue of some type.

My "older" Web5 cameras are working minus the expand video window issue you mention, while using plain Edge.
They show NO video and are asking for the plugin on Edge in IE mode (which is to be expected. The plugin is for IE after all)

BUT- I just logged into a PTZ with very recent FW. August '25, and it works just fine including expanding video windows, in plain Edge mode, as does my Triple cam with brand new FW which started this whole problem.

I think its a version issue

Torch folder 5.1.412650.0
vs
Torch folder 5.1.412649.0

playing with it now

2650 is what downloaded/installed when I was messing with it last night before I gave up.
That was from one of the two cameras with the new August 25 FW

Once again updating FW fucked things up. I rarely do this but was told I would get the new long distance, mo betta AI if I did.

Back to my old method of updating ONLY when absolutely necessary because something's broke and I have no choice!

BTW: Same problem using Chrome. I have another Win10 PC around here which I know has never used WEB5. Gonna try it and if it works I'll assume this is a win11 related issue

UPDATE: Installed the plugin on my other Win10 PC. All good and everything works as it should. So..... I have to assume this is a win11 issue

Yes but its also a plugin version issue.
I've been using this Win11 laptop on hundreds of cameras for 2 years.

I just installed the plugin using Edge in IE mode and it installed 2649 and I now can't get ANY video in IE mode (using 5442 bullets and a 3449 TIOC PRO with 2024 FW for testing)

With the 2649 plugin in Edge I get video but no doubleclick Expand function
With the 2649 plugin in Edge in IE Mode I get NO video and its still asking to install the plugin, like it ignores the plugin it just gave me and installed
On two cameras I get this flesh colored background where video should be
pluginprob1.jpg

Its a clusterfuck

Try good ole IE. Knock on wood it has been a workhorse for me thru every GUI variation and firmware!

How to enable native Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and 11:
  • Open Notepad:
    • Copy then paste the single line of code below into Notepad:
    • CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application").Visible=true
    • Save as OpenIE.vbs
  • Make sure the the file name ends in .vbs not .txt, If it ends in .txt you must rename to .vbs
  • Create a shortcut to the above file and double-click it anytime you want native Internet Explorer.

I will but this is clearly something that happened last night after allowing the plugin download from my Triple Lens with latest FW from Dahua site

Deleting the newer plugin Torch folder and rebooting gets me back to working fine in Edge.
Hit and miss with cameras as to whether expanding video windows works or not but all can see video and all functionality is working.

Edge in IE mode AND plain IE- asking for a plugin as expected, no video either way as it needs the plugin. It will take loading a plugin again and I'm not up for that abuse again on a Friday

.

Its gonna take a number of hours to sort out, its a plugin/OS compatibility thing. (And I think FW version)

Not gonna happen for a few days as I'm buried in a project.

If you install the plugin under plain-IE everything works as it does under Edge/Win10 problem is if you go back to Edge you are back to square one. I did the same as you, delete the plugin and have video stream. If I really need to I will zoom in my Edge browser to 500% to edit my rules within the unexpanded video window but for now I will do any rule editing under my Win 10 installation

Yep something obviously changed, and it occurred when I installed the new latest FW for the Triple Lens cam.
This is the FW that supposedly has the new gee-wiz Xinghan Large scale AI model.

I anticipate we're going to see more of this popping up in the forum
