Howdy all, just after some thoughts on cameras for my daughters new place.
Personally I am running Blue Iris and various cameras purchased from Andy 5 or 6 years ago. I am looking for something fairly 'low maintenance' and without the Windows dramas, so have decided to go with a NVR-8CH-8P-2AI-S2 from Andy, and have gotten a 12gb Skyhawk drive for it. Cant believe the prices now for hard drives!
Being that she has spent a lot of hard earned on buying block and building, there is not a limitless supply of funds and would prefer fewer cameras of better quality.
I decided to go with 4 of the T54IR-ZE-S3. I also purchased one of the Color 4K-T-S2 to test and play with - not sure if the White LED will be annoying or not. As this is a new estate, and she is not in as yet we are not really sure of how good the lighting will be in the area as far as street lights etc.
House is on a small block - 325sqm - and her front bedroom window is only 3 metres from the public footpath. I have decided on one of each of the T54IR on each side of the front, and the Color4K near the front door.
Would I be better to have the Color 4K on one side overlooking the yard rather than watching the front door approach? How do they compare?
I have not used these before, so it is more of trial and testing for me.
I have got a couple of the other T54IR overlooking approaches to the rear sliding door, and laundry/garage rear door.
I have got 3 older T2231T-ZS still in boxes from my workshop install, so I will use them to monitor the sides and rear of the house.
I have attached a quick sketch of where I am thinking. Blue lines are the access to house and rear of garage.
My main question is what are opinions of the Color 4K - would I be better to run all the front cams as the T54IR and used the Color 4K out the back (if the LEDS are troublesome out front of a house)
