Getting the hang of it

Out of the blue and with no changes at all, the HIK Connect application asks for "Enter Video and Picture Encryption Password" in order to view the short clip in the events list and when I enter it, I get the message "Incorrect device verification code".
I have the NVR DS-7616NI-I2/16P with firmware 4.61.030 build 240123 ( I have not upgraded to the latest firmware on purpose- Don't upgrade the firmware if there are no problems) and suddenly I get the above error.
I know about the "Stream Key", the "Stream Encryption/Encryption Key" in the Platform Access, that must be the same and defined.
I deleted the NVR from the HIK-Connect application and re-entered it through the HIK Connect QR code and even manually, but nothing solves the problem. Any ideas??

Your NVR firmware appears current according to the HIK firmware download page. What is the latest firmware that you have access to? You may want to try a complete reset/configuration on the NVR, and a complete delete, re-download, and fresh configuration of the app. I am assuming you are accessing the app via mobile phone?

You are right. Recently I installed the latest available firmware. Resetting everything and re-configuring is the last resort action.
Strangely, after one day the smartphone app and the events showed up properly with none of the previous errors.
The typical HIK behavior. :)

So case closed without identification of the root cause of the problem.
