How do automate backups?

I would like to backup my BI configuration but I think they live in the registry. What are people using to automate backups of settings?

I'm using the auto export within BI. I have Home Assistant restart BI everyday so I have a rolling set of backups for the last 3 days.

I use both the built-in Auto export method above and bp2008's biupdatehelper.

Another handy tip is that you can save a human-readable registry backup on demand by holding down the shift key when doing a manual export.

I have used Reddawg's BI5updateMgmt-v2.0 along with BI auto export for years. You can never have enough backups of the BI registry as this is where ALL the settings are stored and ran from.

You mind sharing how you restart BI via HA?

I have HASS Agent installed on my BI machine. Here's the link: Home - Hass Agent Documentation

Hass Agent communicates to HA via MQTT and has an option to create a restart command entity.



Once the restart entity is configured you can create an automation to run the command at whatever time you want.
