TL;DR - Stop BI from changing the alert selection when playback reaches the timestamp of the next alert for the currently displayed camera.

I recently updated my Blue Iris to 5.9.9.98 in May, I was on an earlier version prior but I don't recall exactly which version.

I watch my alerts at 4x playback speed on the Blue Iris console on my PC. I have the "c" key mapped to "Next Item", the "x" key mapped to "Previous Item" and the "z" key mapped to "Start/Stop". I will press the "c" key about every second to review each alert in chronological order.

Blue Iris has a fundamental behavioral difference now that I would like to turn off, disable or otherwise avoid happening.

The behavior is that during playback of alerts Blue Iris will skip over intermediary alerts on other cameras if the playback has reached the time of the next alert for the current camera playing its footage.

Here is an example. The alert durations, frequency and most everything else is made up just to exhibit the behavior, if anyone really wants I can provide actual info based off my recordings but I don't think that is needed. I have 13 cameras on my BI. I record 24/7 @ 15fp and have motion alerts tagged in the timeline, I have the alert end after 5 seconds if not retriggered. Lets say I have 39 events with 3 events for each camera and they are evenly timed at 10 seconds apart. If I start playback of alert number 1 on camera 1 at a time stamp of 14:00:00 and at 4x playback speed. There are alerts on the other cameras every 10 seconds so there are 13 alerts at 14:00:00, 1 for each camera. At 14:00:10 there would be another 13 alerts again with 1 for each camera and then finally again at 14:00:20 the pattern repeats again. This gives us the 39 alerts total.

When I start playback of alert 1 on camera 1 at 14:00:00 if I let it play until the playback time stamp reaches 14:00:10 the selected alert jumps from camera 1 14:00:00 to camera 1 14:00:10 thereby skipping over all the other camera alerts recorded at 14:00:00. If I let playback continue to 14:00:20 the selected alert jumps from camera 1 14:00:10 to camera 1 14:00:20 and skips over all the other cameras alerts. The issue is that if I press the "c" key to view the next alert after I started on camera 1 14:00:00 but let it play to 14:00:20 it takes me to camera 2 14:00:20 not back to camera 2 14:00:00.

This means if I choose to watch an alert for more than a second or two to see if anything noteworthy is captured I end up skipping over any intermediary alerts that occurred on the other cameras during that timeframe and I ultimately miss alerts which negates my reviewing them.

This also occurs in reverse playback where the alert selection will move further into the past if the alert is allowed to playback far enough to reach the timestamp of the previous alert for the displayed camera.

The previous version of Blue Iris did not behave this way. Previously when playback was allowed to continue to any future or past time, even to the beginning or end of the clip, the alert selection would not change and the next item button press would take me to the next alert in the list.

Does anyone have any idea how I can adjust this behavior ?

I am not sure I have explained my issue clearly enough so please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
