As far as I know, this NVR supports 4 analog cameras and 1 IP camera in analog mode. However, when I try to add the DS-2CD2143G0-IS as an IP camera, it isn't detected. The HDMI interface shows a warning icon next to the camera with the message "RESOLUTION OR BITRATE HAS REACHED THE LIMIT," while the web interface shows the status as "OFFLINE" or "OFFLINE (ERROR OF PARAMETERS)." I tried lowering the camera's resolution to 1920x1080 (minimum), the bitrate to 256, and the FPS to 1, but that didn't help! The camera appears in the device list on the HDMI interface, but I cannot change any settings. All the other cameras have a resolution of 960x576. However, if I use this camera in IP mode, it works perfectly alongside the other 3 IP cameras. I tried formatting the HDD, but that didn't help either. Is it really the case that this recording device cannot operate with an additional IP camera, or am I doing something wrong?

According to this link, it states:

"4 channels Recording up to 960p for IP cameras and up to 1MP for TVI and AHD/CVI Video output up to 1080p 1 IP channel 1 SATA HDD up to 6TB 1/1 audio in/out Network interface 1 RJ-45 10M/100M Ethernet"

Going by the spec TonyR found, the extra IP channel in hybrid mode looks limited to well below 1080p, and since the 2143G0's main stream can't go lower than 1920x1080, that would explain the "resolution or bitrate has reached the limit" message no matter how low you set the bitrate or FPS.

Before giving up on it, two things are worth trying. First, in the camera's web page set the main stream to plain H.264 and turn off H.264+, H.265+ and Smart codec. These budget DVRs often reject a stream they can't handle with "error of parameters". Second, look for Signal Input Status (or similar) under the camera settings on the DVR, since on many Turbo HD models you can disable one analog channel to free up a full IP channel. Losing one analog camera might be the trade off if the 4MP camera matters more.
