Hi guys
Hope you all doing well...

I just finish to install a DS-7600 16ch with 10 x 8Mp camera in a a small warehouse.
Everything work perfect on the local network but I am going crazy trying to setup the HIK-Connect on the customer phone.

The NVR has the last firmware installed. I think 5.6....

Under the network option, hik-connect.... when I try to enable it, a small error message come up say: Please change the initial verification code
What is this and where I will find it!?

P.S
I am connecting to the NVR via Firefox on a Linux machine.

Thanks

But this is for activate a camera...

I need enable the HIK-Connect and link to the phone app. I don't need activate a camera.
But did you read 3.1.2 Enable Hik-Connect Service via SADP and Access Network Camera User Guide in the linked PDF file above?

That error is normal. Hik-Connect will not enable until the initial Verification Code is changed.

The Verification Code is not the admin password. It’s a separate encryption code used by Hik-Connect.

On many DS-7600 units, this can only be set via SADP Tool, not from the browser UI.

What to do:

  1. Install SADP Tool on a Windows PC
  2. Run SADP and select the NVR
  3. Click Modify Network Parameters / Hik-Connect
  4. Set a new Verification Code (letters + numbers, 6–12 chars)
  5. Save and reboot the NVR
  6. Go back to Network → Hik-Connect and enable it
  7. Scan the QR code in the Hik-Connect mobile app

After setting the verification code via SADP, Hik-Connect will enable without errors.

Linux + Firefox is fine for viewing, but initial Hik-Connect setup often requires SADP.
