I have one camera that's not directly connected to the NVR (HIKvision doorbell camera, which won't work right unless you connect indirectly to the NVR as if it's a stand-alone). Anyway, I obviously have to set the IP address in the NVR as what it is on the network. It saves and works fine, but every time I reboot the NVR, it changes the IP address to one that's been assigned by the NVR's DHCP. Then, I get the red X in the camera list. Have to go in and change the IP address again.

Do you mean it changes the camera IP address to be in the address range used by the NVR PoE ports, something like 192.168.254.x ?
Is the associated NVR channel set to Manual mode instead of the default Plug&Play? That's usually needed when a camera is on the LAN as opposed to connected to an NVR PoE port.

Yes. It is changing the IP address to one assigned by the NVR as if it's plugged into an NVR POE port. Yes. It's set to Manual. You can only manually enter an IP address if it's in Manual add mode. If you select Plug and Play, you can't set the IP address. When I make the change to the correct IP address, everything works fine. But if I reboot the NVR, it changes the IP address again.
