Hi all, I have a Hikvision DS-7604NI-E1/4P (newest firmware) which I've had three cameras attached to for a few years, without issue. Two Hikvision dome cameras, and a basic IP camera recording the inside of a bird box. All detect and record motion perfectly well.

Just recently I bought an Annke NCPT 500 NightChroma NCPT500 3K Pan Tilt PoE Security Camera - ANNKE Store to fill the fourth channel, I intend to use it at the back of my house.

I've connected it to the NVR with POE, it's all working and being controlled just fine. But I can't get motion detection working. I can draw the area to be recorded, I can set the schedule, all that stuff - but it will only ever record continuously. Even with sensitivity at max, it doesn't appear to detect and record motion.

I've passed the point where I can return it, and tbh I think this is likely a compatibility issue, but before I go and buy a Hikvision camera that's probably going to work just fine, is there anything else I might try?

Are you drawing it in the camera GUI or within the NVR?

If within the NVR, then maybe you exceeded the capacity of the NVR.

It is always best to draw motion detection type activities within the camera GUI because using the NVR to do the activity can cut the capacity/capabilities of the NVR in half.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried to draw it in both to no avail. Same behaviour. I believe the camera has an SD card slot, I haven't tried populating that yet.
