Hi all , after some assistance with my Hikvision camera.
I have a DS-2CD2T46G2-2I camera covering my entrance gate. The gate is located maybe 60m-70m from my house.
I run the camera via poe injector and storage via onboard SD card. My issue is line crossing / motion detection failing to trigger alerts. I have tried everything I can think of alongside google to try and resolve.
So far, I have
Checked all settings and notifications etc are enabled and alert / recording is set for 24/7, notify surveillance centre etc.
I've tried running the camera via NVR in case the onboard couldn't handle the smart events. No difference.
Factory reset of all settings multiple times.
Brought camera indoors and connected via known good short cable.
Installed an injector at the gates to power the camera via short cable to hopefully eliminate if any power drop over the distance from the house.
When I power up the camera initially I get maybe a couple of alerts when line is crossed or motion detected via Hikconnect app (so I know the process works) but then the camera then seems stop even noticing the motion let alone sending alerts. Interestingly absolutely no alerts when its dark. When looking at the camera at night there seems to be no lights on the camera however the image is crystal clear so its not the camera is missing the movement due to image quality.
Are there any known issue with this camera, as I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall, if not I welcome recommendations for a replacement camera model or manufacture that may do what I need consistently.
