High memory usage after upgrading to 5.9.9.98

Long time user of BI, going on (probably) 10 years. I know my ways in and around it. Its been running on VM within Unraid, for the better part of 7-8 years without issue.
However, last week I upgraded to 5.9.9.98 and Blue Iris crashes the VM about every other day, sometimes 2-3 times a day. This time I was able to sit around inside it long enough to see:

I cant remember BI ever taking up that much memory. I have not made any changes to the specs on this vm in 7-8 years, and have not added any new cameras, or made any significant changes. Pretty much cruise control.
I have 30 cores and 16GB of RAM assigned to the VM. Unraid itself has 128GB and is only at 43% utilization.

I am seeing quite a few software/service errors in Event Viewer:

Code:
Faulting application name: BlueIris.exe, version: 5.9.9.98, time stamp: 0x69299b8d

And:

Code:
Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: BlueIris.exe (3504) consumed 26368188416 bytes, MsMpEng.exe (2624) consumed 304463872 bytes, and svchost.exe (1652) consumed 24633344 bytes.
So in this case BI wants 25GB of RAM, and the VM only has 16GB... ?

Does anyone know why in the hecks BI is all the sudden demanding so much RAM?
Thanks.

Did 98 move your blue iris install from C:\Blue Iris to C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5? It did for me. Add the new location to your antivirus exclusion (not sure if this applies for a VM?)

Interesting. Yes, it looks like it did move it. I only use Windows Defender, but added the exclusion. Although, Im not sure how that would make BI go from average of 3-5GB of RAM to 25+

Also add BlueIris.exe and BlueIrisAdmin.exe to the exclusions. The BI manual literally says not doing this can cause memory leaks:

Application and process scanning. These monitor actively running software and every byte of information sent or received for suspicious activity. These are by-far the most intrusive and can greatly affect software performance. For proper efficient software operation it is highly recommended that you exempt the BlueIris.exe executable as well as the supporting file BlueIrisAdmin.exe from this type of scanning. In the past, this type of “security” software has been responsible for otherwise unexplained memory leaks and broken camera streams. These software like to “cache” network communication, and in the case of a camera video stream, this can be gigabytes of information each day, often overwhelming memory or disk resources with endless “temp” files.

Nope, no luck. Memory was sitting around 3-4GB for the last 1-2 hours and BAM up to 25GB again:
Code:
Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: BlueIris.exe (3504) consumed 25511772160 bytes, MsMpEng.exe (2624) consumed 337895424 bytes, and BlueIris.exe (4448) consumed 152502272 bytes.

I think Ill have to roll back and create a support ticket.

I know that 5.9.9.98 has some known issues with exporting clips to MP4, perhaps it also has other issues, I moved to V6 to solve the export issue!
