Help with BI server Re-build

As long as you point it to the folder, it should find it during a rebuild.

But if you haven't done it yet, I would export out to another format and save those somewhere else.

I have copied those .bvr files to another machine as back up. Thank you.

Upgraded to BI 6 completed!

Had quite a time for the upgrade. Kept getting an error about C++ libraries not being correct. Tried 'repair' got the same error. Tried uninstall then reboot and then download and install all over again. Same message.

Finally just clicked ignore or whatever the button was and installed BI6 anyway. Seems to be OK. It initially installed 6.0.6.2 but I reverted to 6.0.5.7 as it was the last stable version.

Next step is to transfer to the new server sometime this week.

My plan is to get BI6 working on the old machine, then move the three drives over to the new machine and get everything running there. I have the drive letters marked on each drive in the case and kept in a spreadsheet the drive letters, serial numbers, which cams are currently writing to which drives and then the new drive assignments.

I have some .bvr files that I have marked as saved in BI from the week my daughter passed. I would like to move them to 'stored' for long term storage, getting them off of the primary drives but still allowing access in BI. If I do this move out of the 'New' folders into a 'Stored' folder manually, in file explorer, will that cause issues with BI? Or will rebuilding the DB fix it all automatically?
if you copy the files it wouldn't upset the database. If you "move" them you'd need to run DB repair/rebuild

Glad you figured out that pesky roadblock with the install. I had it as well. Did the same thing. Its a bug the other guys told me(after)
