help fine tuning BI for smaller object detection

I have a cam that watches a hummingbird feeder but I am regularly getting the shadows on the fence behind triggering instead of small hummingbirds.
Any suggestions on settings to just have something small trigger vs shadows?

U can try using the MASK function....In my experience with FLAGS shadows can be tricky sometimes.....also adjust the contrast slider and see if that helps...

In this case the mask feature won't work since the shadows, at different times of the day, are behind the feeder. The only distinction is that the shadows are larger than what a small hummingbird would be.
