My name is Andy. I’m going to be doing some research and asking questions about setting up some security cameras. I have a synology DS918+ with ~20tb of storage. I’m interested in using synologys security station software. I’m using seagate ironwolf 10tb drives, I have 3 drives in a synology hybrid raid setup. I will most likely add another 10tb drive. I’m looking at 2 cameras the Dahua 2 mp 4239 and the 2 mp 5231. We have dusk to dawn lights out front. I was thinking the 4239 might be a good choice for the front door and driveway area. In the back there is not much ambient light so I was thinking that the 5231 might be be a good choice. Think 2 cameras out front and 3 to 4 for backyard/side areas. I will have to buy extra camera licenses from synology. This should give you guys/gals and idea of the direction I’m heading.
