Having trouble getting FTP to work on Hikvision

Unfortunately I have to stay with Hikvision on this one since the other LPR cameras dont have FTP upload and require you to have to login via web browser to view plate captures. So sadly these aren't going up for sale anytime soon.
Simple application ran as service using cameras API would solve that.

Looks like running a FTP server on windows works well, and then I can have the files save to the NAS. Just a little clunky but hey atleast I am back in business. Looks like the only other problem I have with these cameras is they eventually get blurry because the focus type is set to manual. I wish there was a way to have the cameras adjust the focus once per day or something, or after boot. That way I can have the POE injector on a PDU and have it cycle once a day.

I know this is an old threat, but I ran into this FTP directory problem with HIKVISION cameras, where a slash is not allowed in the directory name in which to save content. Directories by definition contain /, so I don't know what HIK is thinking here. Updated to the newest firmware - problem persists. Any suggestions how to overcome this BUG?

If you want a sub folder created in the main directory try the setting to save in child directory and then specify the name for the subfolder. That field is confusing because it is not asking for a folder location like c:\\users\matt but rather asking for the name of the directory itself which in your case would just be "usr"
