Hello, I'm new on here and have only basic understanding of NVR cameras so if any of my info is incorrect please let me know.
I am trying to set up a security system on my property, but I am unable to get the cameras to connect to blue iris. Currently I am just trying to do a proof of concept test to make sure I can get all of the cameras to connect to blue iris so all of this is just bench testing before I mount the cameras and run the wiring.

Goal:
My plan is to have the 10 cameras connected to a 16 channel poe switch that connects to a computer running blue iris (for testing I have the computer that the switch is plugged in to on wifi but when installed it will be plugged directly into the router)

Hardware:
I have 10 cameras: 6x used axis q3517-slve, 1x used axis p3227-lv, 3x new surevision sp-vp8-n
The Poe switch I am using is from amazon "PoE Switch with 16 POE Ports +2 Gigabit Uplink,1 x 1.25G SFP,802.3af/at PoE+ 100Mbps, 240W Built-in Power, Extend to 250Meter"
The computer I am using to run blue iris for testing is a dell latitude 5430 rugged running windows 11 pro, with 8gb ram, 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42 GHz, 500gb ssd (i will likely find a used desktop and upgrade it as needed to replace the laptop after I get the system installed and functioning)

Software:
the blue iris version that I have downloaded is Release 5.9.9.58 x64 (6/3/2025)
the laptop is running windows 11 pro
the axis cameras were last used in 2020 but I updated the firmware on a few of them and it made no difference in the results

Issues:
Currently I cannot even figure out the IP addresses of the surevision cams. blue iris doesn't see them on "find/inspect" feature and I have tried running advanced port scanner while various cams are connected and the axis cams show up but not the surevision cams

additionally blue iris does not show a signal from the axis cams, it can detect them and gets the IP address and when I have the correct user and password entered it will display the following in the "inspecting" window after clicking the "find/inspect" button:
Opening 192.168.1.110 port 80...
HTTP Get / request...
OK

Foscam FI89xx compatible?
Foscam FI9821 V2 compatible?
Foscam FI9821 media port compatible?
Cantonk port 34567?
RTSP port open?
RTSP port detected!
Done

I am not sure how the settings should be configured but leaving them as default only shows error: 8000007a (check port/user/password) 0

I can access the axis cams with their IP address in a browser so i dont think there is an issue with the hardware but i dont know enough about networks to get it working.

from what I read online I believe the issue might be with the subnet mask, gateway and IP not being compatible but the fact that I can access the cams on the browser makes me think i have something configured incorrectly in blue iris.

is there a way to detect the port and protocol for a camera? i have factory reset the cameras so i am confident in the user and password.

any help would be greatly appreciated, I have a crazy neighbor that has trespassed on my property several times now after being told not to and i want to have eyes on my belongings in case they start to disappear

This shows that the cameras password is incorrect that you are entering in Blue Iris.

Thank you for the response, the user and password that i have entered into blue iris on the Network IP camera configuration window are the same ones that i use to access the camera from the browser so im assuming they are correct, i have even factory reset the camera and used the default user and password. is there an additional password or layer of security on top of the user and password?

This is what I get in the "Inspecting..." window when I try it with any other user or password

Opening 192.168.1.110 port 80...

Unauthorized, check user/password

Dahua cams also have an ONVIF user and password - not sure if the cams you are having trouble with have something similar, but that is what I would look for in the settings.

I can access the Axis cams with their IP address in a browser, so I don't think there's a hardware issue—though similar network setup frustrations are mentioned on https://vivint.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html. That makes me think the problem is likely with the network configuration or Blue Iris settings.

Yes, this is likely a network issue. Connect your laptop via Ethernet to the same network as the PoE switch. Use ONVIF Device Manager to find IPs and stream paths. Make sure ONVIF is enabled on each camera. For SureVision, you may need vendor software to detect or set IPs. Test each camera individually. Once all are on the same subnet, Blue Iris should pick them up correctly.
