Getting the hang of it

I am trying to chase down some failures on my system:
I has a been working fine for a couple of years
Blue Iris setup
Amcrest cameras.
The two exterior cameras went down at about the same time
The single interior camera also went down but connected when repowered is still connecting
There may have been a power surge or something:
No evidence of a lightning strike.
Cameras all POE. Not sure if the POE is working. Don't know how to tell.
Internet to the house went down. It reconnected when I rebooted the modem.
An interior house alarm was triggered. No exterior alarms tripped. I don't think anyone got in.
It was a dark and stormy night, but I was not home at the time. The connectors and cameras are in a pretty dry places.
No evidence of tampering on the outside wiring.
All cameras are on the same hub. Which has a couple of other devices connected that are ok.
One of the external camera cables tested out with a bad ethernet cable.
One cable tested with a just a bad ground

I am a confused. Any suggestions welcomed. Are there diagnostics I can run from Blue Iris?
I plan on replacing the bad cable, maybe both, and then reconnecting Blue Iris.
I installed the system so I know it pretty well.

Any help will be appreciated.

You stated "Cameras all POE. Not sure if the POE is working. Don't know how to tell."

If powered from a POE switch, when you view a port for a non-working camera is there a LED lit solidly on one side and a LED blinking on the other side?

Yup there is a solid light and on the opposite side there is one that flickers. The camera on that same hub that is working has a solid light and one that blinks very rapidly.
It sounds like it is getting PoE.
Puts that issue to bed.

Not so fast putting it to bed - are any of the cameras from that switch showing up in BI? If not, one possible reason could be the uplink port blew out.

Or another could be your cameras were not static IPs and when the system went down and came back up, you have some IP conflicts?
