..then place it on the pad under the nozzle BEFORE putting the pod in the Kuerig machine and hitting the start button

Yes, dammit....
- My Ninja beeps if I press the brew button with NO water in the reservoir.
- My Ninja beeps if I press the brew button without enough water.
- My Ninja beeps if I press the brew button with NO K-cup inserted.
- My Ninja will NOT beep if I press the button, it has water in the reservoir and a K-cup inserted but no cup under the brew spout.

Yup, Same with my Kuerig so I found out this morning
Then while cleaning up the mess, one of the cats is sitting there in the middle of the kitchen mocking me!
