I'd been running a combination of SightHound Video and Blue Iris for around 6-7 years. I had SightHound configured to perform detection, send push notifications and emails, and then fire trigger events at Blue Iris using a Python script I wrote. Blue Iris was the archive and playback app, with most viewing occurring in the BI iOS app. BI was doing none of its own motion detection; alerts on the BI timeline were all externally sourced from SHV sending them to BI.
This all worked pretty well until a couple of years ago when push notifications from SightHound stopped working in the wake of their retiring the product. SHV itself continued to work but I had to start relying on notifications from gmail instead of directly form SightHound.
Now with BI6 and its AI capabilities, I finally am able to retire SHV. It really was a great product and I wish they had continued investing in it. SHV is dead, long live SHV!
