EU follies

We're quite happy to have him as well as our 1st Amendment

"xenophobia, antisemitism, and political polarization" same tired censorship excuses for someone saying something you dont agree with

keep Elon with you as long as possible.. Most Europeans will be grateful to you for it :)

I don't know your age or health. But I recommend traveling the world a bit, learning about different cultures and worldviews on life and politics. Ideally, on different continents.

Then you might understand that the American worldview is very different from other cultures. And because you constantly try to force it on everyone, you're in the top three most hated countries in the world (alongside China and Russia).

You know that AfD is right-wing extremism party, which rhetoric fuels xenophobia, antisemitism, and political polarization?
They try to destabilize democracy. Similar in Poland and many other EU countries we have very similar parties...

Theirs rhetoric always work to undermine European Union as a whole.. and promote views consistent with what Putin's Kremlin wishes.

Germany have long Nazi past. They remember about theirs history.
It's democracy have many safe guards to prevent authoritarian or extremist movements to gain power from election. Theirs constitution allows to ban extremist parties like AfD.

They've created these mechanisms over the decades to prevent a repeat of World Wars I and II. And it's not up to us to criticize them. Especially not an American billionaire like Elon, who is trying to block German / European regulations and the legal system - so he can do whatever he wants in Germany / Europe, similarly to the US.

Some people will see much of your post as irony.

The EU is Authoritarian. The censorship and locking up of their citizens by the thought police prove this point. While GB is not a part of the EU I'm going to throw them into the mix because they have similar behaviors to the EU.

If the AfD is seen as problematic I would say it's many of the migrants being allowed into Europe who are creating an atmosphere of xenophobia, antisemitism, and political polarization. Culture clash on steroids with these migrants not liking much of what they see in the native population. Good for the AfD to see at least this point in the self destruction of Europe, their culture and values. I'm not promoting the AfD, I'm just saying that a least they recognize that the direction that Germany is going there will be no Germany in 20 years; at least not like you've known it at the end of the 20th century.

And it appears that Europe is getting a bit itchy. They haven't started any world wars in awhile and appear to be on their way for "third times a charm".

I’m older and very likely far more aware of the world than you know or credit me for. But thats ok. I long ago decided not to give a fuck if people from other cultures hate me because I have different views.

Socialism and Authoritarian countries don’t appeal to me and I don’t need to travel to Europe to know that.

Europe In The Balance?

There is a distinct difference between “hating” someone for their views and calling out what I see as self destruction of Western Europe and western values.

You should ponder the difference

there is big difference between "having own views" and constantly trying to force it on everyone.
you have full rights to have own views.. I'm also have full rights to have own views...

But you don't necessarily have the right to force your worldview on others. Especially for full countries you don't live in.

Check this thread title.. and content..
Many months of criticism, even rude mockery of Europe (or the UK in a separate thread), based on highly manipulated and very one-sided ultra-right Twitter messages (or other ultra-right media), which are mainly based on the aforementioned xenophobia, antisemitism, and political polarization.

Once again – we have our problems. Migrants are one of them.
But we are autonomous countries. And we have every right to decide for ourselves. Avoiding the mistakes of others and also making our own.

I'm not creating a thread on this forum that criticizes the United States. And I'm not criticizing every stupid action by Trump or Elon. Or any one else from the US government.

You have your country, your government/president, and you have the right to criticize what's happening in your country. And to try to change it for the better as you see fit.

People who live in the UK and individual European countries have the same rights to criticize and try to change own countries & governments.
Not You...

this is called democracy..

You must not read much. I criticize my country far more than socialist Europe.

And I’ll continue to express my opinion about and critisize the EU. Because I can

If posting news and opinion on a forum is “constantly trying to force it on everyone.” You’re simply proving my point.

I hope you realize that you see the same warping of reality in what you read about the USA. I hate to sound like I'm fighting against the person who adds so much valuable technical content to the forum, so I'm trying to look at what I'm saying as spirited debate without anything whatsoever personal. Besides what I see in the media, I'm close to several people who grew up in Europe and now live in USA. I very much agree with much of what you say, especially about USA meddling in the affairs of other countries. That aside, Europe in general has a very warped view of what's going on inside the USA. A couple of US presidents ago, Europe in general figuratively just worshiped our president, who just happened to divide the US population and stoke hate like I've never seen before, while I watched in disbelief as Europe loved him. No debate from me that our current president is a loose canon, which troubles me greatly, yet at the same time he's fixing a lot of nasty things caused by previous presidents that Europe liked better. The people I know here who grew up in Europe, when they talk to their family members over there, are in disbelief of the big pile of crap you're fed, compared to what they actually see here. The US media is getting more and more corrupted from Europe, with the Axle Springer propaganda organization now owning a few major USA media outlets, in addition to the European outlets they own, some in Poland. A European ownership of US media strikes me as meddling. Media propaganda is one tool to hobble with or overthrow a government.

While I agree with much of your criticism os USA, I think you might not see the big picture in Europe. It's harder to see when you're close to it. My own opinion is that the EU has ruined what used to be all of the different unique and beautiful different cultures. You've not only become what you hate, but have overshoot it with authoritarianism, central control, and loss of freedom.

This chart tells us everything we need to know. Grifters hate when the grift ends. Europeans like it when an anti-American president attempts to undermine America.

Many probably read websites like Quora a "safe space" for leftist morons who ask dumb questions like THIS and circle jerk each other off.

This is now in the German media, so I'm starting to believe it's true. From DeWelt:

Zahl der verstorbenen AfD-Kandidaten steigt auf sieben

Roughly translated as: Number of dead AfD candidates rises to seven. The story is buried in the middle of the politics page, and I would have thought it's a top headline. They do say it's not statistically significant, and candidates have died before, even from other parties. Nothing to see here, folks.

Kommunalwahl in NRW: Zahl der verstorbenen AfD-Kandidaten steigt auf sieben - WELT

Yes, we have problems with migration in Europe. The same as You in the US.
They're not as easy to solve as simply closing the borders and sending back emigrants.

No, but it's a start and a logical step in the process, especially when it includes deporting criminals such as murderers, rapists, child molesters and human traffickers....wouldn't you agree?

I learned a bit more. This election is for local seats in one German state. AP is reporting a total of 20,000 candidates (for all parties, not just AfD). If this were to be correct, I could buy the statistically insignificant argument. Adding to the statistical likelihoods is that these candidates tend to be older.

Over Half Of Berlin's New Police Recruits Can't Speak Basic German, Officials Admit

Gee, I wonder how this will work out for LEO and the public.

It's funny and sad at the same time...but since the majority of these later generations are born with a smartphone in their hands they have no need to be able to spell, develop a decent vocabulary or even put together a meaningful, in-person dialog. No wonder they have trouble with relationships and dealing face-to-face as most have not adequately developed the ability to properly read body language, voice inflections or even facial expressions......all necessary to deal with the public, the very basic thing that LEO does!

Reports of false arrests, unnecessary conflicts and police brutality will be on the rise and perps/suspects/public and cops will clash unnecessarily because of simple misunderstandings and poor communications.
