Caveat emptor? :wtf:

This eBay vendor says he is selling Dell Optiplex 7050 PC;s with i5-6500 CPU's and Windows 11....I've sent him a message asking how he was able to do that when MS says at least gen 8. I'll post here what I find out.

Got a reply today from the eBay vendor, as below. :idk:

My question:

Your description says the PC is an i5-6500 with Windows 11. How did you get Win 11 to install and run on a 6th gen CPU when Microsoft says it has to be at least 8th gen, like an i5-8XXX ?

Vendor's reply:

Dear XXXXXX
Thank you for your inquiry. We understand your concern regarding the compatibility of Windows 11 with 6th generation CPUs, such as the i5-6500.

While Microsoft's official requirements do specify 8th generation CPUs or later for Windows 11 compatibility, it's important to note that system compatibility can often extend beyond official specifications.

Regards,
XXXXXX
