Yep, and good luck trying to contact someone at eBay who can speak English. I was on the phone to complain, and it was the same old third-world, barely speak English representative with an American name. I don't know why I bother because they raise my blood pressure with their nonsense reading from a cue card.

The fees are outrageous at 15 - 20% of the total including shipping AND tax (why do sellers pay a fee on shipping and a fucking tax to eBay? Shipping for me is done outside of eBay, so I see no reason why eBay takes 15%, they provided no value for the service and to collect a fee on a tax? Fucking outrageous!), the support is non-existent and it's a monopoly.

What a concept. Selling things for more than you paid for. eBay must be run by the gubermint now as they are professionals as losing money.

Two things wrong with eBay's ruling as I see it:

1) Some dumbass can't read and/or understand simple English. The FCC rule they linked states:

"Video surveillance and telecommunications equipment produced by Dahua Technology Company, to the extent it is used for the purpose of public safety, security of government facilities, physical security surveillance of critical infrastructure, and other national security purposes, including telecommunications or video surveillance services provided by such entity or using such equipment."​

Your listed item(s) doesn't meet ANY of the conditions in red type above..

2) The ruling states "This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence. This came to our attention through automated detection."

So therein lies the problem..."artificial intelligence" received some bad info or made the wrong interpretation and when a human had a chance to review it and override it, they didn't because they were too stupid to understand the FCC's use of the English language. This is a perfect example how AI will continue to cause havoc and will perpetrate the eventual downfall of many in-place systems of checks-and-balances unless capable and knowledgeable people stand up and take charge.

There's going to be a LOT of pissed off sellers if they keep using AI to make uninformed blanket decisions. Most are one step away from moving on, but there isn't a competitive site to do so, that I'm aware of

Unfortunately, the person I was speaking with from eBay barely spoke or understood English, so they just let AI make the ruling decision since they did not understand the issue. What's next, is AI going to decide if we get a life-saving operation or turn it down based on a business calculated financial feasibility decision? - never mind, I don't think I want to know
