Hello Everyone. My DVR DS-7104HGHI-E1 with firmware V3.1.8 build 150915 worked fine until I updated it to V3.4.1 build 160422. The problem is when it was updated, it do not accept the old user id and password in SADP. The error message is "Connect the device failed. Error 17 : Others". I tried xml password reset from Hikvision support which won't work either. The network settings I was trying to make are not saved which only shows 0.0.0.0 as it's IP. I booted directly with the DVR which boots and goes to the 4 view but only 1 window seems to work. I tried to go to menu to change network settings or downgrade the firmware. It shows user login screen but doesn't show user names or won't let me to type the admin/user name. It even won't accept the old password. Looks like bootloader failure. Does anyone have the solution to this or ever faced this problem? Thanks in advance.

I think you jumped too many firmware versions.
When they change the way configuration data is stored, the new firmware must know how to translate the earlier data format.
If you jump too many versions it doesn't have support for the older version, and the result is corrupted configuration data. That includes the login credentials.
You need to wipe the configuration data.
