Hi everyone,

I am based in the US and I'm trying to purchase this beast (48x laser zoom PTZ) , but unfortunately all the resellers don't have it and are telling me that it's not sold in North America.
Hikvision sales in the US is trying to get rid of their inventory and are trying to convinvince me that the 42x model (DS-2DF8C842IXG-ELW) which is marked as "discontinued" on the global website is the latest model in the US.

Is there anyone here who can help me buy the DS-2DF9C848LXG1-LW model?

NVM, looks like I'm a complete idiot and completely missed the news about the 2022 Hikvision ban.

B&H Photo (among others) is still selling many Hikvision cameras.

AFAIK, the ban is currently enforced only if the non-NDAA compliant camera(s) is(are) to be installed on government-owned property or the owner/occupants of the property purchasing the non-NDAA compliant cameras are government-funded.

Somebody please jump in here if that has changed and I am wrong and if so, please provide links. I thought I was wrong once before but as it turns out I was mistaken.

FCC stopped issuing permits for Hikvision equipment released after 2022. Meaning that nobody can import new Hikvision cameras/nvrs/etc, even for private use.

This is why this PTZ camera is discontinued worldwide, yet still sold here:

1. Worldwide: DS-2DF8C842IXG-ELW
2. USA: DS-2DF8C842IXG-ELW

But given that Hikvision is going to shit:

1. I can't get support from them even for my international locations
2. They assign same model numbers to old and new equipment with the only goal to confuse the consumers
3. Increasing amount of software bugs that they are not addressing

... I say - let them rot in hell.
