Hello,

I've just got several DS-2CD2443G2-IW-W. There are no issues with the cameras mounted in their normal orientation, but I had to rotate some of them to get a wider vertical viewing angle (I suppose it's called corridor mode). I looked through all the options in the iVMS-4200, but I couldn't find any settings with a similar name.
Do these cameras have a setting for image rotation or maybe I should update the firmware?

Current Firmware Version V5.3.8 build 241123
Current Encoding Version V7.0 build 240204

Thanks in advance.

According to the User Manual, Section 2.4.6 "Display Settings", they do allow for a 90° image rotation, changing the aspect ratio from 16:9 to 9:16.

The UM states "Rotate: When enabled, the live view will rotate 90° counterclockwise. For example, 1280 × 720 is rotated to 720 × 1280. Enabling this function can change the effective range of monitoring in the vertical direction."

Thanks for the answer.
There is no Display Settings section in the iVMS-4200 configuration tree.
Probably parameter name was changed to Picture Settings, but there are no available options here. Drop-down menu Mode is disabled (or just empty).

In case your model is: DS-2CD2443G2-IW (W), then it belongs to the new generation Hikvision wireless cameras which are in fact rebranded EZVIZ cameras. They share common EZVIZ limitations like no web interface, no possiblity to change their ports, no manual firmware upgrade, etc.. As I see in the camera specs sheet, there is no option for image rotation. The camera is intended to be added in Hik-Connect cloud, so you can add it there and check if you'll get more image options via the mobile app. You can get there the latest firmware update as well.

FWIW, you asked.... "Do these cameras have a setting for image rotation........? so my answer did not involve the iVMS-4200 configuration tree.

The spec sheet you linked states that this camera uses protocols of "TCP/IP, ICMP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, DHCP, DNS, RTP, RTSP, RTCP, NTP, UPnP, IGMP, QoS, IPv4, UDP, Bonjour, SSL/TLS" and security of "Password protection, HTTPS encryption, Security Audit Log, basic and digest authentication for HTTP/HTTPS".

Are you sure you've got the right camera when you said it "shares common EZVIZ limitations like no web interface, no possibility to change their ports, no manual firmware upgrade, etc." ?

Yes, I see the specsheet, but I think this is rather a mistake. These cameras have no web interface for sure. If you open specsheet for every other Hik camera you'll see section "Web browser" where the you can check supported browser version and plugin requirements. There is no such section in this camera specs.
I'm also not sure if the author has exactly the same camera... that's why I'm starting with: "In case your model is...". Nevertheless, I suppose we're talking about this model since the previous model was DS-2CD2443G0-I(W) - the one which still had web inerface.

I do not trust cloud providers especially in such cases as security and CCTV and just wanted full offline system with my own VPN access only. I thought cameras for such price could work in full offline mode without any limitations except user-friendly remote access from smartphones.
Anyway, I added one camera to Hik-Connect and it was reported that version of the camera firmware is the latest. Also there are no advanced configuration options.
Probably it will be easier to just buy a new one with Rotate mode in datasheet description (DS-2CD2443G2-I seems the good candidate). Hope there will be no problems at least with that one.

Yes, the question was about camera settings, but the only way to access them is via iVMS-4200, because the camera doesn't have a web interface.

The full model name on the box is
DS-2CD2443G2-IW 2.8mm W

Yes, I now know as you pointed out the support page's "user manual" and to some degree the spec sheet linked on Hikvision's site is incorrectly offered for the current version of that camera.

It's sad in a way that so many things are getting "dumbed down" and made to work only with an app, no webGUI login to adjust camera exposure, resolution, static/DHCP IP's, port numbers, etc. The masses want a perfect, turn-key solution that is applicable to every situation....no way can one, un-configurable setting in all categories work for every distance, ambient light level, subject motion speed, etc. so they are perfectly content with "half-ass".
