I have a dozen of these cameras and every one has a stuttering problem and “digital glitches” with my NVR, present on any device that has NVR’s client app - wired desktop WinPC and it’s app, iOS app - or even NVR itself (I have 23” LG connected to the NVR itself)
Some notes:
Stutter happens every I frame - I set GOP every 5 frame, a longer stutter happens every 5 seconds. GOP = FPS, then shorter stutter every second, in a more “paced” manner
Bigger bitrate worsens stutter a bit, but no bitrate decrease help to get rid of all stuttering, until you cant tell apart if it still stutters or that’s low bitrate artifacts.
NVR records these stutters onto HDD so it is all visible during playback
Stuttering is reduced during nighttime when IR is active
NVR CPU load is ~15%. Live view is turned off most of the time since NVR is the least capable among all.
Mobile clients seems fine running grid live view of all cameras simultaneously. NVR client has a primitive OSD, it shows rock solid 25FPS for all channels all the time, on all devices. All cameras are set for 5mbps, 1080p (2MP), 25FPS
I have gigabit network, only two poe switches that power cameras are 100mbps, 8xFE and 4xFE. Should be enough since total bitrate from cameras rn is 60 mbps.
Tried every one firmware from that hik catalog, no results. Even worse, had to install this ivms bloatware last time. First it was live view not working, now I cant upload firmware through web interface, it starts to be more and more obsolete with all browsers going further with updates.
Dunno what else…
Problem looks to be NVR, but I doubt, cause VLC live stream directly from cameras looks silk smooth while only lagging behind NVR live stream by one second
Where should I dig?
